Selam Send lets you make rapid and affordable money transfers from select countries in North America and Europe to a selection of countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean. With the Selam Send app, you can quickly send funds from debit cards and prepaid cards to mobile wallets, bank accounts, and cash pick-up locations.

We are licensed in every country we operate in as a money transmitter business. We always safeguard your funds while they're in transit to your recipients.

Click in the 'To' field, begin typing and scroll down to 'New Recipient.' Then enter your recipient's full legal name and their phone number and click 'Save.'

When prompted for your password, just take a guess, and if it's incorrect you'll see a button to reset your password via mobile or email.

We will send you an email and update the transaction state to 'Delivered' on the Transactions screen as soon as the funds arrive to your recipient's mobile. If a transaction requires review for regulatory reasons, we will contact you.

Time taken to deliver funds is dependent on the receive country and receiving method. It can vary from delivering within seconds to 3–4 days.

Recipients will receive a text message for mobile money and cash pickup. They can check their account directly for bank transactions.

Every sender has maximum limits on how much they can send per day and per month. These are called sending limits. You can view your daily and monthly sending limits, as well as your usage. Some regions may have additional limits based on partner or regulatory requirements.

Generally, limits are determined by geography, including send country and receive country, and account history. Depending on the region, sending limits may be automatically upgraded based on the account age and previous sending activity (based on successful transaction). Other than sending regularly, there is no action that you need to take to get higher limits.

We remain dedicated to offering the most competitive rates we can. To do that, we may charge a small transfer fee depending on factors like the currency, amount and payment methods. We also make money from the exchange rate, which may include a small margin based on the difference between the exchange rate shown in the app and the market exchange rate.

With Selam Send, you get competitive exchange rates, low fees and clear, upfront pricing — so more of your money reaches your loved ones. The cost of your transfer primarily depends on a few things: the currencies involved; how you pay for the transfer (bank transfer, debit card, wallet, etc.); how your recipient receives the transfer (bank deposit, mobile money, cash pickup, etc.); and the amount you send. We'll always show the exact total cost of your transfer — including any fee and the exchange rate — before you send. We do this so you know exactly what your recipient will receive.

Because our transfers are delivered instantly, it is not possible to cancel a transfer once you confirm it. Please double-check your recipient's details carefully before sending. If a transfer fails due to incorrect details, the funds will automatically be refunded to your original payment method.

This depends on your bank's relationship with our debit card processor — some refunds can be processed immediately but others can take up to 5 business days.
